Effects of Different Seed-coatings on Maize Seed Germination Process and Growth Characteristice

Regulations of amylase at seed germination and the activity of some enzyme of maize variety--Nongda 108 that was related to plant resistance under stress environment and growth characteristics of maize seedling were studied with different seed-coatings. The results indicated that the treatments with different seed- coatings could delay the sucking time. A significant increasing of germination percentage, root-cap,growth vigor were observed in seed- coating after low temperature,and by increasing activity of peroxidase (POD) and reducing the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) the resistant membrane lipid peroxidation with latent antibody was induced.Result of yield statistics indicated that seed-coating had no effect on grain yield.
