Determination of bilirubin and berberine in Niuhuang Gangyan Ning suppositories

OBJECTIVE To establish a quality control method for Niuhuang Gangyan Ning suppositories. METHODS RP HPLC was used to determine the content of bilirubin and dual wavelength flying spot zigzag scannining was used to determine the content of berberine in the suppositories. RESULTS The liner range of bilirubin was 0.028 ～ 0.450 g·L -1 ( r = 0.9999 ) while the average recovery was 97.9% (RSD= 1.7% , n =5).The line range of berberine was 0.188 ～ 1.128 μg( r = 0.999 ) and the average recovery was 97.4% (RSD= 2.9% , n =5).CONCLUSIONS The methods is sutiable for quality control with good chromatographic separation.
