Performance changes of the polyester fabric in the outdoor environment

The polyester fabric was exposed to outdoor environment.Such changes as air permeability,water permeability,color characteristic values,gloss,tensile property,tearing strength,bursting strength,abrasion resistant,stiffness and other properties of the polyester fabric before and after treatment were measured.The preand post treatment surface morphology of the polyester fiber was observed by scanning electronic microscopy.The results showed that the polyester fabric will be aging for long-term exposure outdoor.Especially,if the polyester fabric is exposed to outdoor environment more than 8 months,the polyester fabric will be aging significantly,thus the service life of the polyester fabric will be affected.Therefore,the outdoor product design based on polyester material should consider this phenomenon to avoid unnecessary loss.
