Objective To analyze the application of traditional Chinese Medicine Injections in treatment of upper respiratory tract infections in pediatric of outpatient department and provide the references for rationally drug use in clinic.Methods A total of 1 000 prescriptions in pediatric of outpatient department in Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from October to November,2009 were randomly selected for a statistical analysis on use of traditional Chinese Medicine Injections.Results Among 1 000 prescriptions,37.70% of them used Chinese Medicine Injections;there was no difference regarding the use of Chinese Medicine Injections in different age groups of patients.In addition,the percentage of prescriptions with only Chinese Medicine Injections was 17.51%;while the percentage of prescriptions of combination of Chinese Medicine Injections and antibiotics was 81.95%.Conclusion It has been approved that Traditional Chinese Medicine Injections have unique effect on treatment of upper respiratory tract infections in pediatrics of outpatient service.However,it should be advised to attach great importance to safely,effectively and rationally applying Traditional Chinese Medicine Injections together with application of antibiotics in infant.
