摘要
Abstract At the start of this chapter we recall the salient features of natural photosynthesis which serves as a model in the development of artificial systems that accomplish the fixation of carbon dioxide. Nature has built a fascinating device to make use of sunlight in order to drive a thermodynamically uphill reaction to generate carbon-containing compounds. The reaction is the reduction of carbon dioxide to carbohydrates by water.
