Diabetes disrupts the temporal coordination of wound healing, leading to immune dysregulation, metabolic suppression, and fibroblast dysfunction - all of which underpin impaired palatal mucosal repair. These findings provide mechanistic insights and may inform the development of targeted therapies for diabetic wound care.
