A New and Stereoselective Synthetic Route to an Amaryllidaceae Alkaloid, (±)-Lycorine

Abstract Formal and total syntheses of an Amaryllidaceae alkaloid, (±)-lycorine, were achieved by a new synthetic route via (±)-3-(phenylseleno)-seco-dihydro-B-norlycorin-5-one.
