摘要
The industrial production of hydroxylamine by hudrogenation of nitric oxide is carried out in diluted sulphuric acid, using a platinum-on-carbon catlyst. This article reviews the information available on the scientific aspects of this process. Subjects like catalyst composition, reaction kinetics and mechanisms, role of mass transport phenomena and possible connections with the electrochemical reduction of NO are discussed. As a necessary forew rd, some attention has been also given to the studies on the electrochemical reduction over platinum electrodes.
