Study on toughening of UV-curable epoxy acrylate system

A kind of flexible epoxy acrylate(GEA) was prepared by modification of epoxy acrylate with sebacic acid and following a blending with polyurethane acrylate.The flexility of epoxy acrylate can be improved effectively and avoided obvious decrease on strength.The results showed that for the modified epoxy acrylate in which 30% epoxy group was reacted with sebacic acid,when the mass ratio of GEA to PUA to diluent to photo-initiator was 61.6∶15.4∶20∶3,the PUA mixed GEA UV-curing system reached the good comprehensive properties:tension strength was 8.84 MPa,elongation at break was 109%,flexibility was 1 mm.
