A activated carbon supported Pd catalyst was prepared,and used for hydrogenation of furan to tetrahydrofuran.The effects of reaction conditions on the hydrogenation of furan were investigated,and the optimum conditions were determined.Under the optimized reaction conditions,the yield of tetrahydrofuran could be up to 90.2% with a conversion of furan over 92%.The cata-lyst showed good activity and selectivity under mild reaction conditions.
