THE EFFECT OF HEMOPERFUSION COMBINED WITH HEMODIALYSIS ON THE REMOVAL OF MEDIUM MOLECULE SUBSTANCE IN PATIENTS WITH UREMIA

Objective To study the clearance of medium molecule substance(MMS) in uremic patients by combination of hemoperfusion and hemodialysis.Methods Forty patients with chronic uremia were randomly divided into two groups: Combination group and control group.For combination group: hemoperfusion combirnd with hemodialysis were administered twice a week for four weeks;for the control group,only hemodialysis was given,three times a week for four weeks.The MMS was measured in surum before and after treatment,and blood presure,itch of skin,and dyssomnia were observed as well.Results The MMS decresed in both groups after treatment,but more significantly was seen in the combintion group(t=2.54,P0.05).The itch of skin was also improved more markedly in the combination group(χ2=4.86,P0.05).Conclusion The combination application of hemoperfusion and hemodialysis can effectively eliminate median molecule substance,alleviate skin pruritus,improve the efficacy of purification and quality of life in patients with uremia.
