Abstract The effects of lubricants, impact modifier, and process aid on the processing and physical properties of a rigid PVC compound have been modeled using a central composite designed experiment. Capillary rheology was used to evaluate the flow properties of the various formulations in the study. By modeling the rheological properties it is possible to optimize simultaneously the flow, extruder conditions, and final part properties.
