Basically any calorimeter consists of a measuring system which is surrounded by a thermostat or furnace. Depending on the temperature course of the measuring system and the surroundings during the experiment, the calorimeter can be designated as isothermal, isoperibol or adiabatic. Additionally, the calorimeter can be operated either isothermally or with scanning of the temperature of the surroundings. The choice of the construction principle and the operation condition is governed by the material under investigation and the sought physical quantity.
