This chapter provides an overview of the most salient contributions to the development of Lexical Priming (LP) theory from the publication of Hoey's volume in 2005 up to today. Specifically, it discusses Pace-Sigge's application of LP theory to a corpus of spoken data, complementing Hoey's work on written discourse types; the edited volume ‘Lexical Priming: Applications and advances’, which extends the application of LP to a variety of discourse-types and communicative phenomena, using a variety of methods, including statistical and computational tools; and forced LP, a practice which can have significant social, political and economic consequences in the real world.
