Retraction and republication—Pharmacotherapy for adults with overweight and obesity: a systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials

A reader contacted The Lancet regarding five trials included in the Article Pharmacotherapy for adults with overweight and obesity: a systematic review and network meta-analysis of randomised controlled trials1 by Qingyang Shi and colleagues, expressing concern that these trials were not "unique" and that there was potential overlap in the populations studied. In response, the authors agreed to remove the trials in question, re-analyse the data, and submit an updated manuscript including tables and figures.
