Study on the chemical constituents of Mulberry

Objective To study the chemical constituents of the extract of Mulberry.Method The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by the various chromatographic methods such as sillica gel normal, pressurized column chromatography and preparative thin layer chromatography(PTLC), then the structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral analysis. Result Seven compounds were obtained and five of them were identified as 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxa-benzo[d]pentane-6-carboxylic acid (Ⅰ), salicylic acid(Ⅱ), succinic acid(Ⅲ), β-daucosterol (Ⅳ), and 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexanehexanol (Ⅴ). Conclusion Among them, Ⅰ, Ⅱand Ⅴwere isolated from this genus for the first time.
