Application of antigen analysis on Rh blood group in building practical rare blood group bank

Objective:To guide the preservation of rare Rh blood group and construction of practical rare blood group bank according to the application of clinic transfusion. Method:The antibody compositions of the clinic matching samples of Rh negative from 2000 to 2006 were analyzed, donors with Rh negative from April 1999 to September 2006 were detected for D antigen, DDel blood group and other Rh blood group antigen. Result:In 364 cases of Rh negative clinic matching samples, 36 cases had anti-D antibody, as well as 20 cases had anti-E, 14 cases had anti-c, 9 cases had anti-c and E, 4 cases had anti-C, 10 cases had anti-e, 2 cases had anti-D and E, 4 cases had anti-D and c. The donors with phenotypes of dccee (51.60%) and dCcee (31.52%) were more than those of other phenotypes, such as dccEe and dCCee in 1215 RhD negative donors, the phenotypes of dCCEE and dCcEE had not been found. 50 cases of Du type were found from April 1999 to October 2006, and 13 cases of DDel type were detected from 225 donors who were RhD negative in preliminary screening, accounting for 5.8%. Conclusion:It has more application significance in building practical rare blood group bank to meet the requirement of clinic for special blood group while freeze-keeping the O type RBC which have rare Rh phenotype such as dccEE and dCCee.
