Discussion of characteristic of heroes and figures of speech in A Story of Three Lovers from the angle of violation of cooperative principle

The cooperative principle,including quality maxim,amount maxim,relation maxim and manner maxim,is what people should follow in communication.However,people often violate these principles on purpose to express specific meaning.This paper analyses the conversations which violate the cooperative principle in A Story of Three Lovers to reveal the personality of heroes of the novel and explores the figures of speech caused by violation of cooperative principle.
