Synthesis of semi-rigid-biobased polyesters from renewable furanic cyclobutane diacid

A small library of polyesters was synthesized via melt polycondensation of various aliphatic diols and a furfural-derived cyclobutane diacid. The resulting polymers exhibited good thermal stability and char-forming properties, along with tunable T g .
