Silver‐Catalyzed Oxidative Ring‐Opening of Cyclic Aliphatic Amines for C−H Alkylation of Cyclic Aldimines

The developed methodology describes the synthesis of distal aminoalkyl‐substituted cyclic aldimines through a silver‐catalyzed site‐selective ring‐opening of N‐acylated cyclic amines and decarboxylative C−H alkylation of cyclic aldimines. This method enjoys water as a sustainable solvent, which offers advantages including high stereoselectivity, good functional group compatibility, and a broad substrate scope. Preliminary studies indicate that a radical process might be involved in the reaction.
