The Digitization of the Moroccan Bovine Dairy Sector

The Moroccan bovine dairy industry is modernizing through digital technologies to enhance management and productivity. This study evaluates digitalization's current state, obstacles, and development opportunities, including the reliability of a 3D camera for automatic body condition scoring of dairy cows. Analysis of farms (15), technology suppliers (4), milk collection centers (9), and processing plants (4) reveals diverse adoption levels: all farms use surveillance cameras, 8 use automatic fans and misters, 5 have automatic weighing systems, 7 monitor mastitis with conductivity meters, and 4 use pedometers. Software like ISALAIT and Dairy Comp 30 support herd management. Digital technology suppliers offer innovative solutions and technical support, while milk collection centers and processing plants focus on traceability and automation. Financial and technical support and ongoing training are essential to accelerate digital transformation in the sector.
