Synthesis of two-armed poly(glycidyl methacrylate) with a β-cyclodextrin core through atom transfer radical polymerization

The macroinitiator β-CD-BIBB was synthesized through the easterification of β-CD with 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide.Then,two-armed poly(glycidyl methacrylate) with a core of β-cyclodextrin(β-CD) was successfully performed by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP) of glycidyl methacrylate using the β-CD-BIBB/ CuCl/Bpy as initiating system.Its structure was characterized by 1H-NMR、FT-IR、GPC.
