The support of selective hydrodesulfurization(HDS)catalyst for hydrotreating FCC naphtha was modified by impregnation or kneading methods. It was found that impregnating alkali metal had no significant effect on the catalyst HDS selectivity.Kneading could reduce the support acidity obviously, and the surface area and average pore radius of the support were decreased in some extent, which were beneficial for improving catalyst HDS selectivity and reducing olefin saturation rate. The optimal catalyst HDS selectivity was observed at a basic component(Mb)content of(x+40)%.A 10-day continued running results showed that the catalyst had good stability with HDS rate over 80% and olefin saturation rate about 20%.
