A novel absorbent for removing arsenatein aqueous solution was prepared by immobilizing Fe(III) onto collagen fiber(FeICF).The absorption behaviorof As(V) on FeICF was investigated. The maximum As(V)absorption was obtainedin the pH range of 3.0-6.0.The equilibrium absorption capacity of FeICF for As(V)was 75.4mgAs/g at 303 K when the initial concentration of arsenatewas 52.5mgAs/L.The absorption isotherm of As(V)on FeICF couldbe described by the Langmuir equation, and the absorption capacity increased withincreasing temperature. The absorption kinetics of arsenateon FeICF canbe well-described by the pseudo-second-order rate model.
