Two different kinds of water stress were applied to treat the wheat seedling.The scavenging activity of hydroxyl radical(·OH) hydrogen peroxide and superoxide radical(O_2~-·) in stressed seedlings were determined.Results indicated that the normal growth wheat seedlings possessed reactive oxygen species scavenging acivity.Both discontinuous and continuous drought stress affected the response of reactive oxygen species scavenging activity of wheat seedlings.The response of root and the leaf to drought stress was different.The continuous drought-stress had greater effect than the discontinuous one.The reactive oxygen species scavenging activity showed different tendency after rehydration.
