Non-thermal plasma which can effectively remove NOx and other exhaust gases is focused on the treatment of exhaust pollution. As most researches are adapting simulation gas to study at present, this paper employed the NOx from the actual diesel exhaust as the subject investigated. The effects of the amplitude and frequency of voltage, the diameter of high-voltage electrode, reactor volume and discharge gap on NOx removal were studied based on dielectric barrier discharge. Obtained results indicated that the NOx removal rate increased first and then decreased with increasing the magnitude and frequency of the voltage,in other words, there is a threshold. power consumption increased with increasing the magnitude of the voltage. As discharge gap decreased and the diameter of high-voltage electrode increased,NOx removal rate increased;NOx removal rate increased with increasing the volume of reactor. The results of this study have some guides on device application in vehicle from which low-temperature plasma treats NOx.
