Burst oxygen hose

During transfer for computerised tomography, a patient trolley ran-over and sheared the compressed gas hose connecting a size E oxygen cylinder to a Drager Oxylog 3000 (Draegerwerk AG, Lubeck, Germany), interrupting ventilation and posing a significant fire hazard (Fig. 1). Anaesthetists are reminded of the importance of ensuring that not only monitoring wires but also oxygen tubing remain in sight at patient height during transfer.
