摘要
Cancer
Dysfunctional vasculature in tumors reduces oxygenation and access to nutrients and prevents immune cell infiltration, which can limit immunotherapy. Cellular components of blood and lymphatic vessels can also directly modulate antitumor immune responses. In a Perspective, Munn and Jain discuss the recent progress in combining therapies that improve antitumor immunity. They discuss the rationale for combining agents that normalize blood vessels or relieve tumor vessel constriction with immunotherapy to improve the efficacy of antitumor immune responses.
