摘要
Body temperature, like other fundamental aspects of human biology, is closely regulated by intricate control mechanisms. These homeostatic controls allow body temperature to display a predictable diurnal rhythmicity, increasing from a nadir of about 36 °C in the early morning to approximately 37.5 °C in late afternoon1. A variety of disorders can elevate body temperature; those resulting from thermoregulatory failure are properly called hyperthermia, whereas those resulting from intact homeostatic responses are categorized as fever.ThermoregulationBody temperature is a balance between heat production and heat dissipation. Heat is generated internally as a byproduct of all metabolic processes; when . . .
