Objective To explore the effect of psychological nursing intervention in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods 80 cases of chronic renal failure patients on maintenance hemodialysis were rando mly divided into trial group with 40 cases and control group with 40 cases.In addition to routine nursing in the 2 groups,the trial group were carried out with psychological nursing intervention. The scores of Zung's SelfRating Depression Scale( SDS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale( SAS) were used before and after intervention in the two groups. Results Before intervention,SDS and SAS scores between two groups have no statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). After intervention,SDS and SAS scores in the control group were higher than that of the trial group,the difference of which was statistically significant( P 0. 01). SDS and SAS scores of the trial group before were higher than after intervention,the difference of which was statistically significant( P 0. 01). SDS and SAS scores of the control group before and after intervention have no statistically significant difference( P 0. 05). Conclusion Appropriate psychological nursing intervention carried out in patients with maintenance hemodialysis can improve patients' quality of life.
