The thermal property of wool treated by the flame-retaxdaant synergistic system, Titanium tetrachloride,Ammonium bifluoride and dicarboxylic acids, was studied by thermal analysis, char yield, scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and t11e limiting oxygen index(LOI). The activation energy of thermal degradation was obtained by using the equation of Kissinger in thermal analysis from ambient temperature to 700℃.The wool treated with flame-retardant reagents shows increases in LOI.char yield and activation energy, and decrease in the temperature of decomposition, comparing with the untreated woo1.
