The preparation and characterization of trimethylamine modified glutaraldehyde-crosslinked chitosan resin activated with cyanuric chloride, and its infrared spectral properties were studied. The adsorption capacity of the modified crosslinked chitosan resin to copper (Ⅱ) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was 37 mg/g (dry weight) and 460 mg/g (dry weight),respectively. The adsorptive were correlated by the Freundlich isotherm equation. The resin has good mechanical strength, and can be used for the separation and purification of proteins.
