Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of periodontal subgingival debridement with Er,Cr:YSGG. Methods:In the study with a split-mouth design,19patients with chronic periodontitis were randomly divided into group A(subgingival debridement with Er,Cr:YSGG)and group B(subgingival debridement with hand instrument).Compare PD,BOP,CAL changes and the degree of treatment discomfort with VAS values of groups A and B at 6weeks,12weeks after treatment. Results:For sites with PD≥4mm at baseline,PD,CAL and BOP on 6 weeks and 12weeks after treatment compared with baseline, were very significantly lower(P0.01).And for sites with PD≥6mm at baseline,PD of group A on 12weeks after treatment reduced significantly higher than the control group. The VAS value of laser group was obviously lower than group B(P0.01).Conclusion:For the patients with chronic periodontitis, periodontal subgingival debridement with Er,Cr:YSGG laser is safe and effective.
