Objective To study the diversity of E-cadherin mRNA and its protein expression in lung adenocarcinoma. Methods 20 patients with lung adenocarcinoma were selected. E-cadherin mRNA and its protein were detected by RT-PCR and WESTERN- BLOT, respectively. And the sample came from lung adenocarcinoma and normal tissue of the same patient. Results Our results demonstrated the discrepancy of E-cadherin expression at mRNA and protein levels. Conclusion The discrepancy of E-cadherin expression at mRNA and protein levels reflect potential involvement of posttranscriptional regulation (s), Such as RNA alternative splicing and microRNA that remains to be further elucidated.
