Identification of the Authenticity of Three Batches of Tripterygium Wilfordii and the Research on Its Extraction Methods

This research aims to identify the authenticity of three batches of Tripterygium wilfordii,and to select the best method to extract the triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii.With triptolide as the detection indicator,the authenticity of three batches of Tripterygium wilfordii was identified by the high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Three different extracting methods were investigated with the content of triptolide as the indicator:ultrasonic extraction,reflux condensation and soxhlet extraction.The results showed that Triptolide could be detected in Tripterygium wilfordii bought in Fujian and that the content of triptolide by soxhlet extraction was significantly higher than that by ultrasonic extraction method and reflux condensation.It was concluded that Triptrygium wilfordii purchased in Bozhou turned out to be the false goods;Soxhlet extraction was simple and more efficient and preferable for extracting the triptolide from the Tripterygium wilfordii.
