Optimizing single-atom catalysts via adjacent atom manipulation

In this issue of Chem Catalysis, Pan et al. elucidated an electron induction regulation mechanism of single-Fe-atom sites via the introduction of adjacent Te atom for efficient electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. The adjacent Te atom optimized both the electron structure of Fe and CO2 adsorption, thus favoring CO2 activation.
