Effective UV-protection and photovoltaic efficiency enhancement of polymer solar cells using diatom shells doped with Eu3+/Tb3+complexes

In this work, Eu 3+ /Tb 3+ complexes were anchored into diatom shells and mixed with cellulose acetate, and the resulting films with excellent UV-absorption were applied to polymer solar cells, improving the cell efficiency and lifetime.
