Polymerization of β‐isovalerolactone

Abstract The polymerization of β,β′‐dimethyl‐β‐propiolactone with various catalysts was investigated. A detailed study on the heterogeneous polymerization initiated by triethyl aluminum was carried out. A reaction mechanism is suggested on the basis of chemical analysis of the polymer.
