THE PROPERTIES OF ABLATION RESISTANT QUARTZ/BARIUM-PHENOLIC COMPOSITES FABRICATED BY RTM

The processing and curing reaction behavior of barium-phenolic resin for resin transfer molding(RTM) were studied.Based on the results,samples of quartz/barium-phenolic composites were made by RTM.Then mechanical and ablative properties of samples were tested and evaluated.Experimental results show that the quartz/barium-phenolic composites have good mechanical properties,a certain ablative performance with linear ablation rate of 0.092mm·s-1 and mass ablation rate of 0.0707g·s-1 under oxyacetylene ablation test.
