Creative Thinking Is Not Equal to Divergent Thinking

In the research field of creative thinking, people are used to emphasizing the functions of divergent thinking and depreciating the significance of convergent thinking and some even hold that creative thinking is equal to divergent thinking . The present author believes that they are not equal at all . Instead , creative thinking is the dialectical unity of divergent thinking and convergent thinking which appear alternatively in the whole creative process of human thinking .
