摘要
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of autogenous bone particles harvested from dental implant socket preparation with drills when used alone or in combination with a proprietory allograft material, Bio-Oss . Methods: 52 implants placed in 34 patients were divided into 4 groups. Group 1: 22 implant were insert in alveolar bone after implant socket preparation without bone grafting. Group 2: Bio-Oss was used as a defect restoring material around the exposed screws of 6 screw-type implants. Group 3: The autogenous graft particles were placed in the bone deficient area around 8 screw-type implants. Group 4: Bio-Oss and the autogenous bone particles mixture were placed in the bone deficient area around 16 implants. Measured the height of bone ridge around the implants in I or II stage operation. Results: New bone formation were observed at stage II operation performed at 3~12 months after stage I operation in the experimental group. More bone formation was observed in Group 4( the Bio-Oss and autogenous bone mixture) . Conclusions: This study demonstrates the effectiveness of using bone particles obtained from implant socket drilling in bone formation around implants. This application avoids be need of a separate autogenous bone harvesting procedure which is not without surgical risks. The simplicity of this bone grafting method is significant to the expansion of the clinical applica-tions of dental implant
