Effect of Ghrelin on the Expression of GHRH and SS mRNA in the Hypothalamus in Saanen Goats

To investigate the effect of ghrelin on expression of GHRH and SS mRNA in the hypothalamus after injection of ghrelin through vein injection in goats,Ten Saanen goats were randomly divided into 2 groups: experiment group and control group.The expression of GHRH and SS mRNA was studied with relative quantity RT-PCR after injection of ghrelin in goats.The results showed that ghrelin could significantly up regulated the expression of GHRH mRNA in the hypothalamus(P0.01),and a significant change for the abundance of SS mRNA expression was observed in the hypothalamus after injecting ghrelin(P0.05).The above studies suggested that ghrelin may be involved in regulating the expression of GHRH and SS mRNA in the hypothalamus,it provided the physiological data for ghrelin in regulating the expression of GH.
