Determination of hesperidin,baicalin,honokiol and magnolol in Huangqin Zhengqi Capsule by HPLC

AIM: To establish a method of determining effective components in Huangqin Zhengqi Capsule (Radix Scutellariae,Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae,Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis,etc.). METHODS: The contents of hesperidin,baicalin,honokiol and magnolol were determined by HPLC.The chromatographic conditions were:Phenomenex luna C_(18)(2) column,using methanol-0.2% phosphoric acid solution as a mobile phase,detecting wavelength at 294 nm and the column temperature being 35 (°C). RESULTS: The four effective components could be detected by this method,and their contents could be determined.A good linearity of hesperidin,baicalin,honokiol and magnolol was in the range of 0.144-0.864 μg,0.249 6-1.497 6 μg,0.100-0.600 μg,0.098-0.588 μg,respectively;the average recoveries were 99.25%,98.70%,99.32%,100.07%, respectively. CONCLUSION: The method is simple,feasible and reproducible and can be used for the quality control of Huangqin Zhengqi Capsule.
