Studies on Chemical Constituents of Subergorgia reticulata

Objective To study the constituents of Subergorgia reticulata.Methods The isolation and purification of the compounds were performed by silica gel,Sephadex LH-20 and HPLC methods,and their structures were determined by comparison their physicochemical characters and spectral data with literatures.Results From the methanol extracts,nineteen compounds were isolated and identified as 6β-methoxyl-ergosta-7,22E-diene-3β,5α-diol(1)、24-methyl-cholesta-7,22E-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol(2)、Cholest-7-ene-3β,5α,6β-triol(3)、Cholest-7,22E-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol(4)、24-ethyl-cholesta-7,22E-diene-3β,5α,6β-triol(5)、24-methyl-cholest-7-ene-3β,5α,6β-triol(6)、Cholesta-5,22E-diene-3β-ol(7)、24-methylenecholesterol(8)、24-methylcholesta-5,22E-dienol-3β-ol(9)、cholesterol(10)、isofucosterol(11)、Uracil(12)、Thymine(13)、caffeine(14)、2'-deoxyuridine(15)、thymidine(16)、2'-deoxythymidine(17)、(E)-N-2-(1,3-dihydroxy octadecan-4-en)-hexadecamide(18)、Dibutyl o-phthalate(19).Conclusion Compounds 1,4~9,11,15~19 were isolated from this gorgonian for the first time,and 1 and 14 exhibited moderate cytotoxicity against the P388 cell line with the inhibition proliferation 84.24% and 12.75%,the HeLa cell line 84.24% and 12.75%,at the concentration level of 100 μg·mL-1,respectively.
