摘要
Global rotation of the constituents of an atom lifts the degeneracy of magnetic substates thereby giving rise to chirally asymmetric polarizabilities and to a nonforbidden optical rotary power. The optical rotation is proportional to the global rotation frequency and can be enhanced like the Faraday effect by multiple passage of the beam through the sample.
