摘要
The reactions of hydroxyl groups on the surface of tin (IV) oxide gel with trimethylchlorosilane and dimethyldichlorosilane have been studied with the aid of infrared spectroscopy. At higher reaction temperatures, attack on the oxide bulk is observed, and a silicone polymer is found in the case of dimethyldichlorosilane. The behaviour of D2O, ammonia, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and acetic acid with methylsilylated-tin(IV) oxide surfaces is also reported.
