Vitamin D 2 yeast falls into the biology categery and it mainly applies to the medical industry. A method of transforming ergosterol into vitamin D 2 is introduced. Using yeast as the seed, molasses was deeply fermented to synthesize ergosterol. Irradiated with ultraviolet rays, ergosterol yeast can be directly transformed into vitamin D 2 yeast . Under optimum conditions, the yield contains 15000IU per gram. Clinical observations show that they have good preventive and curative effects for rickets.
