Based on triaxial test results, the relationship between permanent strain, effective stress, and loading cycles is obtained for clay in shanghai . Analysis of the cyclic triaxial test results of three kinds of soft soils in Shanghai shows that a certain regularity exists between the dynamic shear modulus and the shear strain, and between the damping ratio and the shear strain of the three kinds of soils. In addition, mathematical expressions of the dynamic shear modulus ratio shear strain and the damping ratio shear strain are presented for soils in Shanghai. Compared with measured data, the calculated result is satisfactory.
