Critical Rationalism in Historical Horizon

Popper argued that knowledge stems from guessing.Although he did not deny the function of observer and rational institution in the progress of scientific recognition,he objected that truth can be attained by way of them.There is no absolute knowledge at all,and the only way of gaining knowledge is error-trying method.All of the scientific knowledge is made up of useful and effective guesses.Accordingly Popper insisted that the scientific criterion of knowledge is not its possibility of verifying,but its possibility of error-verifying.As a result,Popper took a cautious attitude to scientific knowledge.
