Opening of Epoxides by Amino Groups Using MOF‐74 Prepared at Room Temperature as Heterogeneous Catalysts

Abstract In the present work, five MOF‐74 of Co, Cu, Mg, Ni, and Zn synthesized at room temperature are evaluated as catalysts in the aminolysis of undissolved epoxides with styrene oxide and cyclohexene oxide, the former being much more reactive. All the materials were stable after the reaction, Cu‐, Mg‐, and Zn‐MOF‐74 presented the best catalytic activities with TON values of 95.8, 78.3, and 80.7 respectively in a time of 24 h and 60 °C being easy to recover and wash for a possible reuse in these reactions.
